Nationwide Tour of Gowns by Brides Against America

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Shop designer, couture and gently used bridal gowns for a good cause.

Brides-to-be can find their dream gown for a fraction of the retail cost at the Nationwide Tour of Gowns by Florida-based Brides Against Breast Cancer. Most gown prices range from $99 to $799, including hundreds of new, name brand and designer gowns valued up to $8,000. Exclusive designer and couture gowns valued up to $20,000 are also available at 25% to 75% savings.

Wedding gown sales are an important fund-raising event for Brides Agains Breast Cancer, which hosts more than 40 shows annually.

Gown sales help provide support, education and hope to men and women affected by breast cancer. Worldwide support of designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and individuals who donate a gown make it possible for the organization to hoste the Nationwide Tour of Gowns. Visit the website if interested in donating a wedding dress.

The Nationwide Tour of Gowns continues in Minneapolis March 10-11, Philadelphia March 31-April 1, and Atlanta April 13-15. Admission to the shows is free, although a VIP admission ($20) gives attendees a sneak peak at the gowns during “Power Hour” and the ability to buy first.

To date, the Brides Against Breast Cancer program has received more than 50,000 wedding gown donations, with an estimated resale value of more than $4 million. More than 70% of proceeds go directly to the services providing support, education and hope for those impacted by cancer.

Breast cancer awareness is an issue close to us at Advantage Bridal, where we understand firsthand how this diagnosis can impact one’s life. We donate a large percentage of proceeds of Pink Ribbon apparel and accessories, Fight Like A Girl shirts, Save the TaTas tanks, and breast cancer awareness apparel. Raise support in style with a personalized tank or tees that reads, “Survivor,” “Restored,” “Tough Chick” or “Hope.” Together, we can all do our part to help fight this deadly disease.

Advantage Bridal Features Pink Ribbon Items at Southern Women’s Show Orlando

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Our booth featuring Pink Ribbon items and custom rhinestone apparel, shoes and accessories at the Southern Women's Show Orlando.

The Southern Women’s Show Orlando has it all: food, fashion, shopping, health, beauty, lifestyle and celebrity guests. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we thought it was the perfect venue to showcase Advantage Bridal’s Pink Ribbon apparel, totes, gifts and other fabulous pink items. Whether you’re a cancer survivor or know someone who is, Pink Ribbon tanks and tees show support and bring awareness to the fight against breast cancer.

Raising awareness for breast cancer is a cause we support both professionally and personally. We have seen firsthand how the disease impacts the lives of women and understand the difficult road to recovery. That’s why we donate a portion of our Pink Ribbon sales to help uninsured women get reconstruction after breast cancer. The diagnosis will change a woman’s life forever, but she can feel like a complete woman again as long as she knows the options that are available to her.

Stop by our booth at the Southern Women’s Show Orlando to see what Pink Ribbon items we have for yourself, a friend, sister, mother or loved one. Together, we can join in the fight against breast cancer and help women explore reconstruction options following a diagnosis. Advantage Bridal’s online Pink Ribbon Shop carries items for everyone (and they’re super cute, too!), including Fight Like A Girl, Save the TaTas, pink ribbon tanks and t-shirts, breast cancer jewelry, Pink Ribbon footwear and Pink Ribbon accessories. We’re sooo much more than a bridal shop!

The Brides Project is located in Ann Arbor

The Brides Project vows to “fight cancer one dress at a time.” Sponsored by the Cancer Support Community (CSC), The Brides Project recently opened its doors in Ann Arbor Michigan selling new and gently used wedding dresses at a fraction of the cost. The appointment-only bridal salon is run by volunteers who also offer consultations for brides-to-be when selecting the perfect wedding gown.

Eco-conscious brides can buy a used bridal gown that supports vital programs for CSC. If you’re a Michigan bride looking for a great deal and want to support a good cause, then check out The Brides Project.

The shop sells only donated wedding dresses. So if your wedding has passed and you’d like to donate your gown to support CSC, email info@thebridesproject.org. Dress donations are accepted from anywhere in the US and anyone can purchase the gowns.

First started by Canadian Helen Sweet, this marks the first location in the U.S. Monique Sluymers, also from Canada, was instrumental in starting the project here. The West Liberty location offers “consultations and sales in an elegant and relaxing atmosphere.”

Advantage Bridal sells Pink Ribbon apparel and accessories, donating a large percentage of proceeds to organizations that support breast cancer research and reconstruction for women who are uninsured or can’t afford it. Shop our site for Pink Ribbon t-shirts, tank tops, hats, slippers, tote bags, pink garters and more! Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we support the cause year-round because we know how difficult the journey is to overcome this disease.
