Green Bride Guide began its ten city tour on January 7, with stops in major U.S. cities through April. The exhibit showcases the green wedding movement, a 100% sustainable bridal booth and the nation’s leading green wedding vendors for eco brides hoping to do their part.
The green wedding tour schedule follows:
Bridal Fashion Debut Phoenix, AZ 1/7/12-1/8/12
Seattle Wedding Expo Seattle WA 1/14/12-1/15/12
Elite Events Atlanta GA 1/22/12
Bridal Shows Inc. Dallas TX 1/28/12
Baltimore Bridal Show Baltimore MD 2/4/12
Great Bridal Expo New York NY 2/10/12
Elite Events Savannah GA 2/26/12
Houston Wedding Showcase Houston TX 3/03/12
Washington Bridal Showcase Chantilly VA 4/15/12
Rocky Mountain Bridal Show Denver CO 4/22/11
The sustainable bridal booth features recycled cardboard trees, with bamboo poles and linen curtains, while green ventors are marked with a reclaimed wood frame. A description of what makes each product green is displayed on a reusable chalkboard garden sign in a small terracotta pot with real moss, and the sign marking the entrance to the pavilion is printed on recycled tyvek.
Visit Advantage Bridal for ideas on green wedding favors, such as plantable seed favors and linen favor bags, organic cotton bridal tank tops, seed place cards, burlap gift pouches, personalized water bottles and travel mugs (eco bridesmaid gifts), reusable monogram shopping tote, reusable lunch totes and more!
When planning a green wedding, remember the three Rs – reduce, reuse and recyle, because small changes can make a big impact. If you’re doing DIY favors, give something the guests can use at home or a tasty snack to nibble on. Shop for gently used wedding gowns or think about donating/selling yours after the big day. Choose bridesmaids dresses and shoes they’ll wear again. Use potted flowers or containers as centerpieces. Try a non-traditional bouquet with paper flowers, brooches or ribbon.
Less is more for the eco bride and we encourage everyone to do their part, no matter how seemingly insignificant!
