Supermodel Kate Moss, 37, and musician Jamie Hince will marry July 2, according to The Sun. Jamie Hince, 40-year-old guitarist for The Kills, proposed with a vintage engagement ring worth tens of thousands of pounds. Wonder if Kate Moss will wear a vintage wedding gown on the big day? The two met backstage at The Kills’ concert in 2007 and now share a home in North London. Kate Moss’ daughter, Lila, will be the “chief bridesmaid.”

Jamie Hince hunted for a diamond engagement ring once owned by the legendary 1920s party girl, Zelda Fitzgerald, who was married to F. Scott Fitzgerald. Although he didn’t find one, he did the next best thing – gave her a Zelda-inspired vintage engagement ring. The newly engaged couple is thinking about throwing a 1920s-themed wedding in Paris, which is where the Fitzgeralds lived. The two were said to be engaged last year, but like all good things, timing is everything. The Sun first reported news of their engagement and we can’t wait to see wedding photos of fashion icon Kate Moss and rocker fiancé Jamie Hince.

Grammy Winner Jason Mraz is Engaged to Tristan Prettyman

Jason Mraz is engaged to Tristan Prettyman.  Mraz tweeted “SHE SAID YES” on Christmas Eve.  Later on, Prettyman tweeted “For once I am speechless…I did good! holy crap! man of my dreams!!! for the rest of my life!!!”
Prettyman is a surfer and former model born in California.  They met while Mraz was on tour. The couple were previously engaged in 2006, but broke up for a short while.  We sincerely hope that “Life is Good” for these two from here on out!

Cupid Strikes: Happy Valentine’s Day

Reportedly, 10% of wedding proposals occur on Valentine’s Day, so cheers to all those women who will become part of this statistic! Valentine’s Day is the most popular day to get engaged, followed by Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve and the birthday of the bride-to-be.  The U.S. Census Bureau provides more interesting stats on marriages, such as an average of 2.2 million couples wed each year.

For Valentine’s Day gifts, greeting cards came in at 65% while jewelry rang in at 11%. The United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Belgium, Australia and the United Kingdom celebrate cupid’s day. It is believed that Charles, the Duke of New Orleans, wrote the first Valentine when he was imprisoned in the Tower of London. He wrote the letter to his wife in 1415, and six centuries later, Valentine’s notes and cards (stationary) are still exchanged between loved ones, parents, friends and family members.

One last tidbit: Some women take things into their own hands and send themselves flowers on Valentine’s Day (15% in fact).

Royal Wedding Scoop

This April, all eyes will be watching a momentous occasion as Prince William marries fiancé Kate Middleton in what will likely be one of the most anticipated royal weddings.

The British Monarchy recently announced additional details about the royal wedding and released official engagement photos of the long-time couple (above).  On April 29 at 11 a.m., Prince William and Kate Middleton will be married.  The Dean of Westminster Abbey will conduct the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury will marry Prince William and Miss Middleton, and the Bishop of London will give the address.

Kate Middleton will arrive at Westminster Abbey by car along a designated route that includes The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square.  After the wedding ceremony, the two will return along the processional route via carriage to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen will host a reception. The Prince of Wales will give a private dinner, followed by dancing, at Buckingham Palace in the evening for the couple and their close friends and family.  Notice the gorgeous blue oval sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

Country singer Shania Twain and Frédéric Thiébauld, who tied the knot on New Year’s Day, released photos of their beachside wedding in Puerto Rico.  Twain wore a strapless wedding dress, which was reportedly purchased from a bridal boutique in Switzerland, a full-length veil, a bridal sash and white Calvin Klein heels (they appear to be C.K. Dylan).  The two announced their engagement last month and rang in the New Year in wedded bliss.

Country music artist Kellie Pickler married songwriter Kyle Jacobs in an intimate wedding ceremony in the Caribbean on New Year’s Day.  Pickler entered the country music scene after appearing as a contestant on American Idol. Thanks to Twitter, Pickler has been keeping fans updated since her engagement with Tweets and pictures.  After the vows, she sent this Tweet: “Private Island. Caribbean. Cigar in one hand, Rum in the other. Someone just called me ‘Mrs. Jacobs.’….sounds nice :) .”
