Breast cancer is a life-changing event that affects millions of women (and men) worldwide, and we know firsthand how this diagnosis can turn one’s life upside down. That’s why we donate a portion of sales on all cancer awareness merchandise to various organizations that support this important cause.

Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in style with Save the Ta-tas apparel and accessories at Advantage Bridal.  This cause is near and dear to our hearts.  That’s why we donate a percentage of all breast cancer awareness accessories and apparel to breast cancer support and breast cancer research organizations, such as Breastoration and My Hope Chest. Together we can raise awareness of the need for a cure with these fun TaTas garments and accessories.  Advantage Bridal is an authorized retailer for Save the Ta-tas merchandise and Founding Member of the Save The Ta-tas Donation Matching Program.  Save the Ta-tas donates 5% to the Save the Ta-tas Foundation for breast cancer research, and Advantage Bridal donates another 5%.  A minimum of $50,000 has been pledged to the Concern Foundation to further the progress of breast cancer research and to support a gifted scientist studying many forms of cancer.

Wedding Registries That Support Charity

In the wake of the tragedy in Japan and with natural disasters striking more regularly, engaged couples and their wedding guests have the opportunity to make a difference by donating to charity. Nonprofit organizations, such as JustGive and the I Do Foundation (now partners), offer charity registries in lieu of wedding gifts or favors. Similar to a gift registry, couples create a charity registry for direct donations to the cause of their choice. Guests can access the registry through the couple’s wedding website and will pay a nominal fee for credit card processing.

Brides and grooms have additional options that support the cause important to them, including a charitable gift registry, charitable wedding favors or by purchasing select wedding accessories that contribute a portion to charity. And if you still need a blender or coffee pot, many top retailers have partnered with the I Do Foundation and will donate a portion of gift sales to your favorite charity.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

10_2_OurCauseOctober is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but we work year round for “Our Cause” through product sales that support several organizations.  The American Cancer Society estimates that 207,090 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in the United States this year alone.  Today, there are more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors – you might be one of these warrior women or you might know women who have endured this battle.  At Advantage Bridal, the issue of breast cancer hits close to home and we want to do our part to support organizations that help women cope with the effects of this potentially deadly disease.  We donate a large percentage of proceeds to Breastoration and My Hope Chest because too many women are left in the dark about their options for reconstructive breast surgery.  Sadly, even more women are never told about reconstruction surgery at all. However, the cosmetic outcome can be optimized when surgery to remove breast cancer is planned with reconstruction in mind.  Breastoration offers educational materials about reconstructive options and helps women who may need financial assistance, while My Hope Chest provides free breast reconstruction for uninsured and underprivileged women.  My Hope Chest calls breast reconstruction “the final step in breast cancer treatment.” Advantage Bridal carries breast cancer clothing, breast cancer accessories and breast cancer t-shirts.  Items include hats, garters, rhinestone tanks, tote bags, fleece hoodie and pants, jewelry, ornaments, Save the Ta-tas apparel and accessories that support FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered).  Small actions can make a big difference if we all work together!  Let’s help change the lives of breast cancer survivors.

Nationwide Tour of Gowns by Brides Against America

Brides-to-be can find their dream gown for a fraction of the retail cost at the Nationwide Tour of Gowns by Florida-based Brides Against Breast Cancer. Most gown prices range from $99 to $799, including hundreds of new, name brand and designer gowns valued up to $8,000. Exclusive designer and couture gowns valued up to $20,000 are also available at 25% to 75% savings.

Wedding gown sales are an important fund-raising event for Brides Agains Breast Cancer, which hosts more than 40 shows annually.

Gown sales help provide support, education and hope to men and women affected by breast cancer. Worldwide support of designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and individuals who donate a gown make it possible for the organization to hoste the Nationwide Tour of Gowns. The Nationwide Tour of Gowns continues in Minneapolis March 10-11, Philadelphia March 31-April 1, and Atlanta April 13-15. Admission to the shows is free, although a VIP admission ($20) gives attendees a sneak peak at the gowns during “Power Hour” and the ability to buy first.

To date, the Brides Against Breast Cancer program has received more than 50,000 wedding gown donations, with an estimated resale value of more than $4 million. More than 70% of proceeds go directly to the services providing support, education and hope for those impacted by cancer.
