This beautiful What is In Your Heart necklace sets allow you to insert a variety of charms in your heart or circle locket that represent what you love. Some women like to wear good luck charms and guardian angels or their initial and birthstone. Moms like to wear their kid’s initials and birthstones. These lockets make great personalized jewelry gifts for Bridesmaids, New Moms, Grandmas, Birthdays, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Graduations, Sweet Sixteen, Quinceañeras, Bat Mitzvahs, Communions, Confirmations, Bridal Parties, and any other special occasion you can think of. If you can think of it, we can put it together for you. Let us help you create that special memory for you or for someone else with a What is In Your Heart locket and some tiny charms! For bridesmaids, their initial and a birthstone heart is very popular. For a gift for the bride, you can use the large heart and add a bride and groom, a diamond ring, and their two initials together. We offer the most reasonable prices on these charms, so they are affordable personalized gifts that are also unique.  Because at Advantage Bridal, we want to help you show off what is in your heart!

Top Ten Creative DIY Wedding Ideas

Monday, June 25th, 2012

This year’s brides are getting more creative than ever with handmade flair that showcase their inner domestic diva. With sites like Pinterest gaining popularity with women everywhere, there are endless possibilities for a budget-conscious bride with a knack for the creative. Try out some of these DIY projects that will please your guests and your budget!

This bride got crafty and made her own flower accessories and boutonnieres from fabrics that coordinated with her wedding colors.  This is a great way to personalize your accessories and save a chunk of money at the same time.

More and more brides are making their own dresses. This bride made her dress (and pattern) by first sewing the green vintage-style dress, then crocheting doilies like crazy for weeks to complete the lace overlay. Isn’t it just lovely?

One of the easiest things to do DIY style is decorations. This couple paid tribute to their predecessors by stringing old photos of family members throughout the reception area. This is a great sentimental conversation piece. You can even turn it into a guessing game with prizes for the guest who matches the most photos to family members.

DIY Bouquets are a great way to add some extra flair to your wedding. This bride made her own origami paper flowers from a pattern and crafted bouquets for herself and her bridesmaids. You can also create matching boutonnieres for groomsmen and other members of the bridal party.

These DIY feather-topped drink stirrers add style to any beverage, and are incredibly easy to make. All you need is bamboo skewers, gold trim, feathers, and a glue gun.

This is a twist on a wedding menu. With only five materials, you can create these adorable fabric menu tags guests will surely appreciate. Supplies: fabric, ribbon, iron-on transfers and a printer. That’s it!

This is another hand-crafted bouquet, but this one has even more sentimental value. This bride photocopied pages from her favorite books, poems, and love notes from her husband-to-be and crafted them into roses. The mix of colored and off-white paper is stunning, and a great way to tie in your wedding colors with a vintage look.

Instead of traditional guest seating cards, tie ribbons around cute, inexpensive toys that your guests will love. These ones are great because they can be personalized to guests’ personalities.

This is another spectacular spin on a DIY bouquet. Broach bouquets are incredibly popular right now, but can run you about $950. This bride collected vintage broaches and pins and created her own. There are a lot of online tutorials on how to do this, and finding your own pins is a great way to show your personality. You can also incorporate family heirloom pieces and honor family members from both families. The best part about broach bouquets is you can keep them forever or reuse pins in your wardrobe or other DIY crafts.

This couple simplified their cake decorating by letting guests decorate it themselves. They ordered a solid white cake and filled piping bags with colored icing in the wedding’s color scheme and let the guests get creative. This is such a fun idea and great for making the guests feel involved in the festivities.

DIY is becoming a huge trend right now and is a great way to incorporate your personality into the big day. Hopefully these ideas will give you some inspiration for your own DIY wedding. What creative DIY wedding projects have tickled your fancy lately?

We are going to try something new on the Advantage Bridal wedding blog by featuring select real weddings! If you would like to share your wedding – the photographs and all the pretty details – contact stacy@apgshops.com. Send your pictures and a brief “story” about what made your wedding special.

We will go through each entry and decide which real weddings to post on our blog and Facebook page. Brides, if you’ve purchased any bridal accessories or wedding accessories on our site, then we want to see. Brides wearing one of our veils, headpieces, wedding shoes, bridal jewelry or other accessory will be considered first.

Of course, we want to know details about the gown, bridesmaids dresses, colors, theme, venue, flowers, decor and anything else you’d like to share. Make sure your wedding photographer will allow you to share these photos (we will give credit). Weddings from the past few months will be considered. Also, if you’re planning a wedding and would like to share photos of a special reception or dinner, feel free to share those too. We are looking for real weddings with unique and creative aspects that can be shared with other brides looking for inspiration.

Fabulous Bridal Hats

Like a gorgeous bridal gown, a bridal hat can make a big impact.  Paired with a more simple wedding dress or clean lines, the bride takes center stage in a wedding hat that brings all eyes to her face.  There’s something classic, yet mysterious, about brides who wear a to-die-for bridal headpiece with confidence.

Wedding hats could be the finishing touch on vintage wedding elements or sophisticated style for brides dreaming beyond the fairytale princess look.  Frame your face with a cocktail hat, pillbox hat or teardrop hat adorned with a blusher veil, organza, silk, feathers or beads.

Crown hats or wide brim hats, like the one above, flatter any bride on her wedding day.  At Advantage Bridal, your choice of bridal headpieces is endless and you’ll have fun choosing the exact style you want to achieve!  A bridal hat looks great in pictures, too.  We love the juxtaposition of the red vintage car (pictured) and bridal hat by Erica Koesler, a collection of fabulous bridal headpieces.

It’s All About Me!

Monday, June 11th, 2012

Well, at Advantage Bridal, we hope that isn’t your motto while planning your wedding, because it’s really about you and him, and your families and friends.  However, we do feel that at least once a day, a bride needs to take a few moments for herself.  Take a moment for yourself each day, to clear your mind and oxygenate your body… taking a few deep breaths even while you are sitting at a stoplight in your car will do you more good than you can imagine.   Planning a wedding is stressful, and doing it while holding down a full time job or going to school, or both….some brides get so caught up in all of the hustle and bustle that they forget to rest and rejuvenate.    Getting enough sleep, eating well and getting some daily exercise will all contribute toward making you a more relaxed bride, and a relaxed bride is a bridesmaid’s dream.   You don’t want to lose friendships over planning what should be one of the happiest times of your life, so take time out for you, stay healthy, laugh every day, and remember that what really counts when all is said and done is that you and your groom are married at the end of the day.  The little things that go wrong (and you will more than likely experience one or more mishaps!) can become some of your most treasured memories as time marches on.  You just have to laugh some of them off and chalk them up to experience.  A perfect wedding can actually be quite boring, so embrace the unexpected, and gracefully press forward.  If there’s anything we can do to help you plan your big day, let us know!
