When you want quality, look further than your own backyard (or country). G. Alexander l.l.c. proudly debuted its collection of made in the U.S.A. tuxedos at the International Formalwear Association Expo 30 in Las Vegas.
Michael Priest, managing partner and director of sales, says this about the new label: “Choosing to manufacture our tuxedos in the USA was an easy choice. . . Making tuxedos in America gives us the ability to work side by side with the designers, seamstresses and everyone involved in the process.”
The collection reflects classic styling with a dash of modern updating, displaying the finest American craftsmanship, according to a press release. The G. Alexander Tuxedo Collection doesn’t pay for celebrity endorsers, but rather chooses to put those funds into the product.
Grooms, look for samples to begin showing up in tuxedo rental stores and bridal shows across the country in December 2011. G. Alexander tuxedo rentails will be available in February 2012.
If you’re planning a 2012 wedding, couples might consider this new formalwear label that supports American workers.

Royal watchers continue to speculate about what type of wedding gown future princess Kate Middleton will wear on her wedding day, but what about the dapper Prince William? Following in the footsteps of his father, Prince Charles, and other royal predecessors, the future king of the United Kingdom will wed in military uniform. But which one?
Prince William’s military career began at Sandhurst Military Academy, and he retains commissions in all of the Armed Forces in which he will one day head. He is currently a helicopter pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue Force. Prince William’s military attire includes uniforms for the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy and Household Calvary. Royal commentator Marilyn Braun provides details on his military dress options. Most speculators believe he will wear an RAF uniform tailored by Savile Row tailors Gieves & Hawkes.
We know his dress will complement Kate Middleton’s bridal ensemble perfectly and will be formally accessorized for the wedding of the 21st Century – perhaps wearing a hat and gloves like his father did when he married Princess Diana.

We like the word “free,” especially when we heard brides can download the Wedding Registry app for free on their iPhone, iPad or iPod.
The iList Wedding Registry app is a powerful tool that promises to make the bridal registration process easy, exciting and, yes, even fun.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with wedding planning, but couples can turn around a hectic schedule by downloading the free Wedding Registry App at iListApp.com or itunes.apple.com/app/id453734688?mt=8.
How does it work? Well, thankfully techies make everything super easy for the end user.
The bride- and groom-to-be can visit any store and scan the barcode of any item. The information is collected and categorized in their personal registry, both within the Wedding Registry App and on the companion website. The couple now has a single registry regardless of how many different stores they visit to register.
Once the couple completes their wedding registry, they can notify their guests (either all or a select few). HHI Classic Distributors developed Wedding Registry, Baby Registry and MyList.
One feature is the ability to create and display a personalized wedding invitation by entering their names, a date and time, location, and provide maps for directions.
The user can manage multiple categories, sort items to single or multiple stores, and sort the list by store location addresses. Samples categories include cookware, cutlery, electronics, bakeware, glass and bar, tabletop, home keeping, bedding and bath.
The Wedding Registry app also makes it easy for friends and family to shop by comparing prices of items in the list and finding the store with the lowest price.
The personalized registry can be accessed by friends, family and work colleagues who have an iPhone or iPad or by using a laptop, PC or tablet and connecting to the website which synchronizes with the couple’s registry App. Once someone purchases a gift, they simply place a check by that item on Wedding Registry and others know that gift has been selected.

The bridal shower tradition dates back to Brussels, Belgium around 1860, but it continues to be a popular celebration today. Bridal showers are traditionally a gift-giving party in honor of the bride before her wedding. Primarily a U.S. and Canadian practice, bridal showers are generally given by the maid of honor and bridesmaids. It is usually attended by women, though in more recent years, couples may attend a “jack and jill” shower together. Regardless of who attends, the shower is intended for guests to give gifts for the home or primarily for the bride since the groom generally doesn’t attend. Shop for unique bridal shower gifts at AdvantageBridal.com.
A bridal shower is usually celebrated 4-6 weeks before the wedding day. The word “shower” comes from the Victorian times when dowries were going by the wayside because money was scarce. Oftentimes, a parasol was put in the packages for the bride and groom. Loosely, it was intended as a pun for “showering” the couple with gifts instead of a dowry as used to be the custom.
Bridal showers have taken on many meanings over the years. One of the most lasting meanings of a bridal shower is that it is a time when the female members of the bride’s family show the bride how her role will be in her marriage. This role is thought to be more of an homage to the mothers and grandmothers rather than a reflection of how the bride will actually behave in the marriage.
Regardless of it’s history, bridal showers are fun to plan and to attend! And for your bridal shower needs, Advantage Bridal is here to help!
